STATEMENT OF FAITH

What we believe

Gospel for the Nations Church is a non-denominational evangelical church, rooted in the authority of Scripture, with Reformed theological convictions and Baptist ecclesiology.

Our Statement of Faith is based on the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) as a clear evangelical framework.

Our theological convictions are Reformed, affirming the Five Solas of the Reformation (Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Soli Deo Gloria), and our church life follows a biblical Baptist ecclesiology.

In this sense, we stand in doctrinal continuity with the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689), while maintaining that the Bible alone is our final authority.

In matters not explicitly commanded in Scripture, we uphold Christian liberty of conscience, seeking unity in the gospel and charity in secondary practices.

Christian Liberty and the Church Calendar

At Gospel for the Nations Church, we do not organize the life of the church around the traditional church calendar (Advent, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, and other annual religious seasons), but around the ordinary means of grace given in Scripture.

When we gather every Sunday on the Lord’s Day, we gather to worship God through:

  • The preaching of the whole counsel of the Word of God

  • Prayer

  • Singing

  • Fellowship

  • Baptism

  • The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the incarnation of Christ, His death on the cross, His resurrection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit are not events that the church is commanded to observe as yearly religious feasts, but saving realities of the Gospel from which the church lives continually.

Therefore, rather than observing a liturgical calendar, we preach these truths throughout the year, because they are the very heart of the Gospel and the foundation of the Christian life.

We respect that faithful churches may practice differently in these matters. However, our desire is to remain as close as possible to the pattern we see in the New Testament, where the church gathered weekly, proclaimed Christ crucified and risen, observed baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and lived daily in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We do not celebrate Christ only at certain times of the year — we celebrate Christ every day.

Essential Doctrines

Our Statement of Faith defines the essential doctrines that shape our identity, mission, and life together as a church rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is completely trustworthy and sufficient for all matters of faith, doctrine, and godly living. All Scripture points to Jesus Christ and reveals God’s plan of salvation.

God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, all-knowing, and worthy of all worship and obedience.

God The Father

God the Father rules over all creation with wisdom, love, and grace. He is Father to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

God The Son (Jesus-Christ)

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again on the third day, and will return in glory. Through Him we receive forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope.

God The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, empowers, and indwells every believer. He equips believers for worship, service, and witness.

Man

We believe humans were created in God’s image but are fallen and sinful by nature and choice. All people are in need of redemption through Jesus Christ alone.

The Gospel

The Gospel is the good news of salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the message of forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope for all who believe.

Salvation

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It includes regeneration (new birth), justification, sanctification, and glorification. Genuine faith produces repentance and a transformed life.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all born-again believers worldwide. The local church is a community of baptized believers committed to the Gospel and to one another. God calls qualified men to serve as pastors, elders, and overseers, and believers are called to serve one another in love and humility.

Communion of the Saints

Believers are united in Christ and are called to love, serve, and encourage one another. The Lord’s Day (Sunday) is set apart for worship and spiritual renewal.

Baptisms and The Lord's Supper

We believe baptism by immersion symbolizes the believer’s death to sin and new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and a proclamation of His return. These ordinances are acts of obedience that visibly and spiritually express the gospel.

Stewardship

Everything we have belongs to God. Believers are called to honor God with their time, talents, and finances for the sake of the Gospel.

The Great Commission

Every Christian is called to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations, which is central to the Church’s mission.

The Family

God designed the family as the foundation of society. Marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman. Husbands are to lead with Christ-like love; wives are to support with godly submission. Parents are to raise their children in the truth of God’s Word.

Future Events

We believe in the future return of Jesus Christ. At that time Christ will judge the living and the dead, defeat evil, and establish His eternal kingdom. God will create a new heaven and new earth where believers will dwell with Him forever.
